I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo with a 4.7L PowerTech V8. It has sat idle for almost a year while I have been recovering from a Stroke. Now I am getting Both a P2096 and P2098 codes after having replaced one of the catalytic converters due to a failure that is now in question actually.

It now starts to stumble and hesitate until I rev. the engine up for a second, and then it sometimes sets the above codes and runs as smooth as ever.

I am trying to figure out what simple solution might cause these codes to show up together. I've heard that an exhaust leak from re-installing the O2 sensors might be causing this? Are there any other ideas as well?

I am trying to find a way to seal the O2 Sensors in place as I don't have any gaskets or any other item. Where can I get "Seals" from? I am just looking for a direction to proceed as I really enjoy the challenge and reward from figuring this one out.
